Wine Tasting in Mendocino County

Mendocino

Mendocino

Mendocino County is just flat out gorgeous.  There’s plenty of scenery between the hills, valleys, redwoods, and the Pacific Ocean.  If you’re looking for a quaint and romantic town to relax and stroll around in, just head over to the city of Mendocino off of Highway 1.

Mendocino County ia also a great place to go wine tasting.  North of Sonoma County and west of Lake County, most wine country travel here happens in the Mendocino AVA, as Highways 128 and 101 wishbone out from Cloverdale.  Within the overall Mendocino AVA’s geographical area, you will find six other appellations (Anderson Valley, Yorkville Highlands, McDowell Valley, Cole Ranch, Redwood Valley, and Potter Valley).

In Yorkville Highlands, our favorite wineries are Maple Creek Winery, Meyer Family Cellars, and Yorkville Cellars.  Click here to read more about why they’re our favorites and which wines we liked the most.

In Anderson Valley, our favorite wineries are Baxter Winery, Bink Wines, Breggo, Drew Family Cellars, Esterlina, Goldeneye, Londer Vineyards, Lula Cellars, Navarro Vineyards, Philo Ridge, and Roederer Estate.   Click here to read more about why, which wines we liked the most, and what our favorite places for food are in the valley (like the Philo Apple Farm).
