bASH – a brash new Appellation St. Helena event

CIA Greystone

Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, the location for bASH on April 14, 2012

If you’re going to be in the Napa Valley on Saturday, April 14th you should consider attending bASH.  What is it?  Well, it’s basically a “bash” showcasing 27 different wineries in a food and wine pairing competition presented by ASH (Appellation St. Helena).  While prior public tasting events from Appellation St. Helena have usually taken place in the afternoon, this new and expanded event will take place between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena.  Attendees of bASH will be asked to vote on the best food and wine pairing at the event as the appellation-based wines being poured will be paired with food from St. Helena restaurants, caterers, and food purveyors as well as student chef teams from the CIA.  General Admission to bASH is $100 per person.

Or, if you want an expanded experience,  bASH also has VIP tickets available for $150 per person and the VIP experience includes early admission to the food and wine pairing (at 5:00 p.m. instead of 6:00 p.m.), a special tasting, and a food preparation demonstration in the CIA’s EcoLab Theater by Chef Lars Kronmark.  To find out more details or to purchase tickets, please go here.

There will be 27 wineries at bASH, including Ballentine Vineyards, Calafia Cellars, Chase Cellars, Corison Winery, Crocker & Starr, Flora Springs, Parry Cellars, Revana Family Vineyard, Robert Biale Vineyards, Salvestrin Winery, Tudal Winery and Vineyard 29 pouring a variety of wines for your tasting pleasure.  There will be a wide range of food offerings as well from restaurants such as Gott’s Roadside, La Condesa, Market, The Restaurant at Meadowood, Silverado Brewing Company, Tra Vigne, Villa Corona and the Wine Spectator Greystone Restaurant.  To see the complete listing of Winery and Culinary hosts, go here.

Appellation St. Helena (a non-profit organization of wineries and grape growers in the St. Helena AVA) is presenting this inaugural event in partnership with the St. Helena Chamber of Commerce, the Napa Valley Destination Council, Arts Council Napa Valley, and the bASH event is sponsored by Le Creuset.   Appellation St. Helena has over 50 winery and grape grower members who actively promote their wines and the local community through charity events, wine tastings, and community involvement.

Sounds interesting but no phone number to discuss and is there any charity involved?
