Fun with Beer in Sonoma County at Beerfest – The Good One!

LogoCome enjoy an outstanding beer festival in the middle of Sonoma County’s wine country at Beerfest – The Good One! on Saturday, June 7.  Now in its 23rd year, the 2014 Beerfest offers over 60 of Northern California’s best microbreweries offering pours alongside many local gourmet food purveyors sharing tastes.

Have you tried all of Sonoma County’s microbreweries?  If not, this is your chance to check off the following from your list of targets:  Bear Republic Brewing Company, Carneros Brewing Company, Dempsey’s Restaurant and Brewery, Fogbelt Brewing Company, Hopmonk Tavern, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Russian River Brewing Company, Ruth McGowan’s Brewpub, St. Florian’s Brewery, Stumptown Brewery, Third Street Aleworks and Woodfour Brewing Company.

Beerfest GlassThe Beerfest ticket price includes unlimited tastings of all the beer and food at the event (including over 120 unique brews) and a souvenir Beerfest glass. Over 1500 people attend each year so the festive atmosphere is pretty much a given.  Attendees can also participate in a raffle offering prizes such as sweatshirts, gift certificates, tours and tastings, and beer to take home.   For music, live entertainment will be provided by Rovetti and Meatballs, a well-known band from Sonoma County whose musical style blends Rock, Bluegrass, Swing and Blues.

Russian River Brewing CompanyBeerfest – The Good One! takes place between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts at 50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa. Beer (and other Beverage) Vendors at Beerfest – The Good One!

Calicraft Brewing Company LogoAt the 2013 Beerfest – The Good One! the People’s Choice Winner for Best Brewery was 21st Amendment Brewery, and they will back for this year’s event.  Other breweries participating this year (in addition to the Sonoma County ones listed above) include Anderson Valley Brewing Company, Black Diamond Brewing Company, Calicraft Brewing Company, Drake’s Brewing Company, Lucky Devil Brewing Company, Marin Brewing Company, Napa Smith Brewery, North Coast Brewing Company, Redwood Curtain Brewing Company, and Uncommon Brewers.

Devoto Orchards Cider LogoFor something different, Beerfest – the Good One! will also have a handful of Cider producers offering tastes including Ace Cider, Bite Hard Cider and Devoto Orchards Cider.  If you need some coffee to top off the afternoon, Big River Coffee Company will be right there at the event.

Food Purveyors at Beerfest – The Good One!

Mary's Pizza ShackLast year’s People’s Choice winner for Best Foodery at Beerfest – The Good One! was Mary’s Pizza Shack and they will be returning as well.  Some of the other local food purveyors joining them on the 7th are Andy’s Produce, BBQ Smokehouse Bistro, Flavor Bistro, The BBQ Spot, The Hummus Guy, Toad in the Hole and West Side Grill.

Face to Face LogoAll proceeds from the event will go to benefit Face to Face, a non-profit organization originally established in 1983 whose Mission is to end HIV in Sonoma County while supporting the health and well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS.  They offer their clients supportive services including housing assistance, benefits counseling, information, referrals, and transportation.  In addition, Face to Face strengthens the community through outreach, education, and public policy advocacy on both local and national levels.  To learn more about the organization, its services, and/or to make an additional donation, please go here.
