VinOlivo: Wrapping Up the Olive Season in Sonoma Valley

VinOlivo 2013 LogoLast month, we told you about January events in Sonoma Valley celebrating olives and olive products (see here).  This month, the VinOlivo Weekend wraps up the Olive Festival with more olive-themed events between February 15th and 18th.

Keep reading and learn about VinOlivo 2013 events over Presidents Day Weekend including a Grand Tasting featuring local food and wine, a special Ticket To Sonoma Valley that provides admission to over 40 wineries, and local Winemaker Dinners.

VinOlivo Grand Tasting

VinOlivo Weekend kicks off with the 8th Annual VinOlivo Grand Tasting on Friday, February 15 between 7 and 10 pm at The Lodge At Sonoma (1325 Broadway, Sonoma).  Enjoy your evening while you sip some of Sonoma Valley’s best wines and ignite your taste buds with culinary delights.  Nibble through the Olive Bar, explore the Pommes Frites and Sparkling Wine Bar, and wrap up your evening with some sumptuous Port Wines.  Advance tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased here.  If tickets are still available, the price at the door will be $85.

Over 60 wineries will be pouring at the VinOlivo Grand Tasting, including Annadel Estate Winery, Bartholomew Park Winery, Beltane Ranch, Benziger Family Winery, Idell Family Vineyards, Imagery Estate Winery, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards, Little Vineyards Family Winery, Schug Carneros Estate Winery, St. Francis Winery & Vineyards, and Talisman Winery.

The VinOlivo Grand Tasting will also feature over 25 of Sonoma’s top restaurants, caterers, and artisans.  Try offerings from Carneros Bistro & Wine Bar, Crisp Bake Shop, El Dorado Kitchen, the girl & the fig, Hopmonk Tavern, The Red Grape, The Strudel Guy, and Wild Thyme, among others.

VinOlivo Ticket To Sonoma Valley

VinOlivo Weekend also offers interested visitors a Ticket To Sonoma Valley.  Buy a Three-Day Ticket (February 16-18) or a One-Day Ticket (Saturday, Sunday, or Monday: you pick the day) and your ticket will give you special access to over 40 wineries.  Special offers that weekend include complimentary tastings, discounted wine purchases, barrel tastings, or winery tours.  The price is $25 for a One-Day Ticket, or $50 for a Three-Day Ticket, and you can purchase tickets here.

If you buy a Ticket to Sonoma Valley, please read the details of the special offers carefully.  Some wineries require an appointment and/or may charge an additional tasting fee if your party is over 6 people.

VinOlivo Winemaker Dinners

On Saturday, February 16, three Sonoma Valley wineries are offering Winemaker Dinners, pairing their wines with the stellar culinary creations of a local chef.  Starting at 6 pm, these Dinners are being held at Annadel Estate Winery, Keating Wines, and Larson Family Winery.  Tickets are $85 per person and can be purchased here (although Annadel’s recently sold out).

 

Sonoma Valley Visitors & Growers Association Logo These VinOlivo events are presented by the Sonoma Valley Vintners & Growers Alliance.  The SVVGA is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote Sonoma Valley wines, grapes, and the appellation while fostering cooperation among Sonoma Valley vintners and growers and the local community.  The SVVGA currently represents 73 vintners and 166 grape growers in the Sonoma Valley.
